wodby/vinyl replaces the end-of-life Varnish 8.0 image with Vinyl Cache 9.1. The updater still watched the 8.0 line and could not detect 9.x releases at all, because upstream renamed its tags and downloads. This makes it follow 9.1 and 6.0.

Details

  • upstream/vinyl.sh tracks 9.1 6.0.
  • A release source may list several URL templates. 9.x downloads are named vinyl-cache-<version>.tgz, 6.0 downloads keep varnish-<version>.tgz; a version counts as released when either exists.
  • Tag prefixes passed by the caller are stripped before the image-name prefix. Before, vinyl-cache-9.1.0 became cache-9.1.0 and was dropped.
  • README and the publisher test inputs follow the new version line.

Validation

  • Version lookup run in a container against the live upstream: 9.1 resolves to 9.1.0, 6.0 to 6.0.18, and a non-existent version is rejected.
  • tests/test_release_updater.sh and tests/test_default_branch_updater.sh pass.

Merge order

Merge after wodby/vinyl#50, which adds the VINYL91 version key the updater reads.

wodby/vinyl now builds Vinyl Cache 9.1 in place of the end-of-life 8.0, so
the updater follows the 9.1 and 6.0 lines.

Upstream renamed both its tags and downloads from varnish-<version> to
vinyl-cache-<version>. A release source can now list several URL templates,
and a version counts as released when any of them exists. Explicit tag
prefixes are stripped before the image-name prefix; otherwise
"vinyl-cache-9.1.0" lost its "vinyl-" part first and never matched.
