Support for 2D systems and periodic boundary conditions

Hi, I am a physics student and I'm thinking about using votess to speed up Voronoi tessellations in my project.
I am working on molecular dynamics configurations of a 2D crystal with periodic boundary conditions, and I wonder if it's possibile to use votess in this case.

Hello there!

Periodic boundary conditions is a feature I aim to implement some time in the future, once I get the time.

Also, though not ideal, votess can be run in 2D by projecting the dataset into 3D space. The functionality would remain the same, but with a higher memory load.
