Opening a file after closing a preview prevents it to be full screen #16578
This one is hard to describe, but it's easy to reproduce (see below). Closing a Markdown preview (it might be true for other?) leaves the editor group locked, preventing subsequently opened files from using all available editing space.
Positron seems to have some kind of "locked group" behavior that prevents the last opened file from being displayed normally (i.e., occupying all available space). Hopefully, the video makes it clear.

Steps to reproduce the issue:
Open a README.md file.
Click the preview button in the top-right corner.
Close the README editor (important).
Then close the preview.
Finally, open any text file.
Expected or desired behavior:
The last opened file should occupy all available space for text editing.
Hi @JosephBARBIERDARNAL - thanks so much for that screen recording; I see exactly what you mean. I don't see this on my local copy, but let's figure out what's causing it.
Could you try to toggle the lock 🔒 icon that appears in the top-right corner of the preview pane? That should unlock that preview group.
If this behavior still happens after that, it'd be great if you could reply with your Positron settings. You can get them as JSON by opening the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P) and searching for "Preferences: Open User Settings (JSON)". I'm curious if something was set, like workbench.editor.autoLockGroups.

Hey! You're right, it was in my Positron settings:
"workbench.editor.autoLockGroups": {
"workbench.editor.chatSession": false,
"mainThreadWebview-markdown.preview": true, // setting this to false fixes my issue
},
