outboundserver not fetching the action url with the given method parameter in GetDigits tag

Hi !!
I'm using plivo RestXML to implement a basic ivr. But the tag GetDigits and outboundserver are not working as expected.
outboundserver always uses DEFAULT_HTTP_METHOD (in default.conf) to fetch content from action url.
let's say DEFAULT_HTTP_METHOD = GET and my ivr server sends

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Response>
    <GetDigits action="http://localhost/process_gather.php" method="POST">
        <Speak>
            Please enter your 6-digit account number, 
            followed by the hash key
        </Speak>
    </GetDigits>
    <Speak>Input not received. Bye bye!</Speak>
</Response>

The outboundserver will fetch content from action url with GET method, and not with POST method as specify in tag parameters
help !!!
