VERSION UPDATE

Good day!

I would like to ask on how should I update the version from GWT 26 to GWT 27? Is there any specific steps on this? or GWT 26 will suffice?

I have lots of changes in the template that doesn't conflict or change the existing GWT 26 template.

These are the changes I've made:

1. CSS (both in the template file and customize)
2. PHP (added functions on functions.php; data entry, displaying of data from database to frontend, filters)
3. additional php file (used for slug).

Updating to GWT 27 is similar to installing a new template. Regarding the CSS, may I ask where you placed it? Is it in style.css/theme.css, or inside a WordPress post/page?

If you placed it in style.css, you can directly use the style.css from GWT 26 since it's basically a blank copy. If it is in theme.css, you will need to manually copy/paste it because some styles are different between GWT 26 and GWT 27.

However, if the CSS was created inside a post or page, there is an easier way so you don't have to redo the widgets or post/page CSS (including page builders, if you're using one).

Set up another WordPress site locally using your backup that is running GWT 26, and update the template there. After the update is complete, export the wp_options table from the backup site and import it into your main website (the one currently using GWT 26).

As for the additional PHP files, manually add your scripts inside GWT 27.0.0’s functions.php file, since GWT 27 and GWT 26 are based on different core files.
