Taskmaster Settings
Does Hollow Eve crafting tasks for the three taskmasters on the island: Poltu (forging), Bradyn (engineering and forging) and Zasele (outfitting). It takes a task, buys the materials, makes the items, hands them in, and sorts the prize sack. It can do one task, keep going for one taskmaster, cycle through all three, or run Zasele's tasks back to back. It can also pick up a task you're already on and finish it.
The crafting is done by forge, sew and shape, so their settings apply. Stone and bone carving it does itself.
Set your default STOW container to your crafting_container. Tools are put away that way when task_no_repair is on, and so is anything else in your hands when the instructions are read.
It tops up your coins before each task, from the Crossing bank (see Coins). Listing tools, finding a taskmaster, picking up tools and showing your loot history don't touch your coins.
crafting_container: backpack
crafting_items_in_container:
- oil
- glue
task_crafting_room:
cube_armor_piece:| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| crafting_container | backpack | Where tools, materials, finished items and the task instructions go. |
| crafting_items_in_container | Items to take only from crafting_container, even if you have others elsewhere. |
|
| task_crafting_room | A room to forge and tailor in, instead of finding an anvil or using the tailoring room. Make sure it has what those crafts need. With it set, the oil check before forging is skipped. Not used for carving or shaping. | |
| cube_armor_piece | The item your Hollow Eve cube is attached to. It's touched before each carving. | |
| crafting_hometown | Crossing | Town to look for an anvil or shaping room in. Leave it unset; the taskmasters, shops and repairs are all in Crossing. |
Your tool and belt settings (forging_tools, forging_belt, engineering_belt, outfitting_tools, outfitting_belt) are used as usual. Bradyn's lumber tasks repair your shaping_tools (default carving knife, clamps, drawknife, rasp and shaper). See Crafting Setup. ;taskmaster <npc> tools lists the tools each taskmaster's tasks need.
task_hometown: Crossing| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| task_hometown | The town that sew, restock and your other scripts treat as your hometown while taskmaster runs. Set it to Crossing if your hometown is somewhere else, so they use the same town taskmaster does. |
- Short forms work too, such as
crossfor Crossing. - A name that isn't a town gives "task_hometown 'name' does not match any town; leaving your hometown alone. Use a town name such as Crossing." and the run carries on.
- Your own hometown is put back when taskmaster stops, however it stops.
- While it runs, every script in your session sees this hometown, background scripts included.
task_copper_floor: 20000
task_copper_target: 110000| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| task_copper_floor | 20000 | Before each task, if you carry less than this, in copper Kronars, it tops you up. |
| task_copper_target | 110000 | How much to top up to. A value below task_copper_floor is raised to the floor. |
Topping up walks to the Crossing exchange, changes all your Lirums and Dokoras into Kronars, then withdraws the rest from the Crossing bank. Each purchase also withdraws anything more it needs.
task_before_scripts:
- buff crafting| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| task_before_scripts | [] | Scripts to run, one at a time and to the end, before asking for each task. Put any arguments after the script name, separated by spaces. |
- They run while the taskmaster's cooldown from the last task is ticking, so they cost little time.
- They aren't run by
;taskmaster <npc> finish. - A script that doesn't exist gives "DRC: Failed to find a script named 'name'" and the run carries on.
task_no_repair: false
task_self_repair: false
task_get_tools_on_completion: false| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| task_no_repair | false | Never repair tools. They're just stowed. |
| task_self_repair | false | Repair your own tools with a wire brush and oil, buying them as needed. |
| task_get_tools_on_completion | false | When the run ends, collect any tools still waiting at Rangu's, for all crafts. Useful if you put your tools away with Clerk Tools afterwards. |
By default, after each task it gives the tools it used to Rangu, the repair NPC, and keeps the repair ticket. At the start of the next task it collects them, checking the ticket every 30 seconds until they're ready. Each tool goes back on whichever belt lists it (forging_belt, engineering_belt, outfitting_belt, alchemy_belt or enchanting_belt), or into crafting_container. ;taskmaster pickup collects them any time.
task_cooldown_poll: 15
task_boosts:
- task
- haste| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| task_cooldown_poll | 15 | Seconds to wait between asks while a taskmaster makes you wait. Never less than 3. |
| task_boosts | [] | Boosts to use: task, haste or both. |
| task_use_boost | false | The older way to turn on task. true is the same as adding task to task_boosts. |
- task: when a taskmaster says you must wait before your next task, it uses BOOST TASK, once per run. Otherwise it waits and asks again.
- haste: before each task, it keeps BOOST HASTE (Minor Haste: one hour of roundtimes one second shorter) running. It remembers when the hour ends, even between runs, and only boosts again after that. If you're out of credits, it tries again before the next task. Any other reply, such as haste already running, makes it wait 10 minutes before trying again.
task_loot_bag: backpack
task_keep_list:
- agonite
- animite
- diamondwood
task_junk_list: []
task_unpack_keepers: false
task_slack_keepers: false
slack_username:| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| task_loot_bag | backpack | Where keepers go. |
| task_keep_list | a long list of rare metals, woods, bones, hides and cloth | Keep a prize sack if its contents match any of these. The full default is in base.yaml. |
| task_junk_list | [] | The opposite way round: prizes to throw away. When this list has anything in it, task_keep_list is ignored and every prize that doesn't match is kept, so a new prize nobody has listed yet isn't lost. |
| task_unpack_keepers | false | Keep just the prize, not the sack. The item goes in task_loot_bag and the empty sack is thrown away. |
| task_slack_keepers | false | Send yourself a Slack message, "Found a keeper: ...", for each keeper. |
| slack_username | Your Slack username. Without it, task_slack_keepers sends nothing, and doesn't say so.
|
After each task it empties gems from the prize sack into your gem pouch and takes the coins. Then it keeps the sack in task_loot_bag or throws it away. Every sack's contents are written to a "Task Master" window and to your loot history, which keeps the last 100 sacks for each taskmaster.
If you set task_keep_list, yours replaces the default list completely. Copy the default from base.yaml and add to it.
- Entries in either list can be text, which matches anywhere in the sack's contents with the capitals exactly as written, or a
!ruby/regexp. - A sack that's empty, or that it couldn't look in, is never kept.
-
task_unpack_keeperstakes out the last item listed in the sack. If the sack holds anything else, or a step fails (for example the item won't fit intask_loot_bag), it keeps the sack too.
Your gem pouch settings (gem_pouch_adjective, gem_pouch_noun, full_pouch_container, spare_gem_pouch_container, tie_gem_pouches) and worn_trashcan / worn_trashcan_verb are used too.
task_bin_leftover_stock: true
worn_trashcan:
worn_trashcan_verb:| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| task_bin_leftover_stock | false | After each Zasele task is handed in, put the burlap cloth, rat leather and wool yarn left in your crafting bag into your worn trashcan, up to 100 pieces of each. |
- It bins every piece of those three stocks in your crafting bag, including ones you bought yourself.
- It needs
worn_trashcan. Without it, this setting does nothing. - With it on, Zasele's tasks skip the walk to the bin room with the leftovers (see What a task does).
- When it bins anything, it uses your
worn_trashcan_verbtwice, then says "Binned N piece(s) of leftover task stock". - It never runs in marathon, which keeps its stock for the next task.
There are no settings for these; this is what to expect.
- Tops up your coins, keeps haste running, and runs your
task_before_scripts. - Finds the taskmaster, starting where it last saw them, and asks for a task, waiting through any cooldown. If you're already on a task, it finishes that task and stops (see Finishing a task you're already on).
- Reads the task and the instructions to work out the material and how much is needed. The instructions stay in your crafting bag until the task is handed in, then they're thrown away.
- Collects any tools waiting at Rangu's, then buys the material: steel or bronze ingots, deer bone stacks, alabaster boulders, balsa lumber, burlap cloth, rat leather or wool yarn.
- Makes the items:
- Forging:
;forgeat an anvil, after checking you have enough oil. - Bradyn's lumber:
;shape. - Zasele's tailoring and knitting:
;sew, after checking you have enough pins and thread. - Bradyn's stone and bone: carved by the script itself.
- Forging:
- Repairs or drops off the tools (see Repairs), and throws away leftover material, up to 100 pieces: ingots at room 793, everything else at room 14886.
- Hands the items in, sorts the prize sack, and runs DUMP JUNK. If it can't hand an item over after 5 tries, it stops with "Could not hand a item to npc after 5 tries, stopping."
If a "low fog" during stone carving takes your boulder, it buys another and carries on.
There are no settings for these; this is what to expect from ;taskmaster <npc> finish, or from asking for a task while you're already on one.
- Every run starts by checking your hands. A prize sack in hand is sorted. For Zasele, an unfinished burlap, rat-pelt or wool piece is finished with
;sew resume. If sew can't finish it: "sew could not finish your unfinished item. Throwing it away and starting a new task." Any other unfinished item is left alone, with "Leaving your item alone: ...". - Reads the task to see how many items are still owed, leaving out the ones you've already handed in.
- Hands in any finished items already in your crafting bag. If that completes the task, it sorts the prize sack and stops.
- Uses the instructions in your crafting bag if they have enough uses left. Otherwise it asks the taskmaster for a new copy, but only once per task. Running out again stops it with "Already asked npc for item instructions on this task, and they were used up again. Stopping instead of asking again; check why the _item_s aren't being made."
- Makes the rest, hands them in, sorts the prize sack, and stops.
If you aren't on a task, it says "You are not on a task with npc." and stops.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
;taskmaster <npc> |
Do one task for poltu, bradyn or zasele. |
;taskmaster <npc> repeat |
Keep doing that taskmaster's tasks until you say "Finish your tasks." |
;taskmaster <npc> finish |
Finish a task you're already on (see Finishing a task you're already on). |
;taskmaster <npc> find |
Walk to that taskmaster, then stop. |
;taskmaster <npc> tools |
List the tools that taskmaster's tasks need. |
;taskmaster cycle |
Do tasks for a random taskmaster each time, until you say "Finish your tasks." |
;taskmaster marathon |
Zasele only: stocks up first (burlap cloth and rat leather to about 100 yards, wool yarn and cotton thread to about 400 yards, and pins), then does tasks back to back. When a task needs more than you have, it repairs your outfitting tools and restocks. Leftovers are kept for the next task. Without task_crafting_room, it sews right where it is, next to Zasele. Stops when you say "Finish your tasks." |
;taskmaster pickup |
Collect tools waiting at Rangu's. |
;taskmaster loot_history |
Show the prize sacks recorded so far, by taskmaster. |
;taskmaster reset_output |
Clear the "Task Master" window. |
