I have decided to fork your code and develop a control the meets my needs. I have successfully upgraded to Avalonia 12.1 and solved some of the problems I was having. I want to make progress on porting my 22,000 line WPF app to Avalonia, hopefully for distribution on a Mac, and the heart of my project is a functioning rich text box control. I'll be happy to share what I have done if you are interested.

Yes I'm quite interested in your upgrade - as I've been trying to update to Avalonia 12.1 from 11.3 in the past week, without any success yet.

After fixing several breaking changes in 12.1, I can get it to build, but on running the DemoApp I keep running into "No precompiled XAML found for AvRichTextBox.RichTextBox, make sure to specify x:Class and include your XAML file as AvaloniaResource'" error. This is despite x:Class being specified.

Did you encounter this and were you able to solve it?

(...Sorry i haven't yet had time to look into the paste/delete errors that are still open as separate issues.)

Just managed to resolve that error and update AvRichTextBox to Avalonia 12!

Seems the DebuggerPanel was running into a problem with precompiled binding of its DataContext - Moved the binding to code behind, where the DebuggerPanel is actually created, and everything meshed fine. (Will update the project on github tomorrow.)

AvRichTextBox has been successfully updated to Avalonia 12 on github and nuget!

Problems included compiled bindings, Clipboard interaction and the Caret not showing after scroll, but these have been solved.

Now to tackle those paste/delete errors...
