Bug: Re-entrancy Guard fails to accurately account for fractional decimal rounding during edge-case state changes #105

Description

@Jaydbrown

Critical Issue Report

During advanced stress-testing and deep edge-case analysis, we discovered a systemic flaw where the Re-entrancy Guard component fails to accurately account for fractional decimal rounding during edge-case state changes.

Impact Assessment

This severely impacts the reliability of the system, causing downstream services to fall out of sync.
This issue goes beyond surface-level bugs and requires a deep architectural fix to ensure robust handling of edge cases.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Initialize the Re-entrancy Guard module in a highly concurrent environment.
  2. Simulate the edge case (e.g., artificially introduce network latency, or trigger 100+ rapid requests).
  3. Monitor the internal state. Notice that the system fails to accurately account for fractional decimal rounding during edge-case state changes rather than resolving gracefully or executing the fallback sequence.

Proposed Architecture for Fix

The current lifecycle management within Re-entrancy Guard lacks robust boundary checks and idempotency. To fix this:

  • Implement a strict locking mechanism or atomic state transitions.
  • Ensure all floating-point math or asynchronous operations are wrapped in proper precision/error-boundary handlers.
  • Write an extensive integration test suite to prove the edge case is mitigated.

Priority: High (Needs Senior Engineering Review)
