Why

On a Lares voice task on pptest03, "turn on the light" took 7 steps and about 10 s the first time:

  • four skills claimed the request (ha-lighting, ha-services, ha-shared's "Read this FIRST", ha-assist), and the model called three of them as tools (unknown tool) before loading one;
  • ha-lighting then pointed to ha-shared for the two commands, and every control skill listed ha-shared and ha-services as prerequisites;
  • the 24 descriptions (8.9k characters) are sent with every agent request.

What

  • Lighting, openings, climate and media each carry a two-command Quick control section (find with state list --search, then service call), so one skill is enough.
  • ha-shared: connection, output formats, raw API and auth-error recovery; no longer "read first".
  • ha-services: services no domain skill covers; ha-assist: Home Assistant's own Assist, not direct control.
  • "Prerequisite" lines become "Connection or auth trouble: ha-shared" (playbooks keep their data-source pointers).
  • Every description is one short sentence (about 2.9k characters in total). Skill versions bumped one minor.

go test ./... passes; hass-cli skill list from a local build shows the new descriptions.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

On a Lares voice task, "turn on the light" took seven steps and ten seconds the
first time. Four skills claimed it (ha-lighting, ha-services, ha-shared's
"Read this FIRST", ha-assist), the model called three of them as tools before
loading one, and ha-lighting then sent it to ha-shared for the two commands,
while every control skill listed ha-shared and ha-services as prerequisites.

- Each control skill (lighting, openings, climate, media) carries its own
  two-command quick control; ha-shared is for connection and auth trouble.
- ha-services is for services no domain skill covers; ha-assist is for
  Home Assistant's own Assist, not direct control.
- Prerequisite lines become "Connection or auth trouble: ha-shared".
- Every description is one short sentence: agents list all of them on every
  request (8.9k characters before, about 2.9k now).
