Summary

Registers the running DanetApplication in the injector under a new public APPLICATION_HOST token — the Danet analogue of NestJS's HttpAdapterHost. Injectables and module onAppBootstrap hooks can now reach the app (and its Hono instance via app.router) without holding an external reference, which unblocks NestJS-style forRoot extension modules (first consumer: the planned @danet/graphql package).

  • src/app-host/: APPLICATION_HOST token constant + barrel
  • src/app.ts: registration in the constructor, re-asserted at the start of init() (most recently initialized app wins, matching the process-global injector's existing semantics); guarded so re-registration doesn't push duplicate entries into injector.injectables
  • openspec/: new Injectable Application Host requirement synced into the application-lifecycle spec; change archived

Written test-first: the three e2e tests in spec/application-host.test.ts map 1:1 to the spec scenarios (DI identity, hook-mounted route served after listen, most-recent-app-wins across two sequential inits).

The two chore commits are separable noise: a repo-wide deno fmt normalization of pre-existing drift (behavior-verified via git diff -w), and the Claude agent definitions used to build this.

Test plan

  • deno task test: 84 passed (29 steps), 0 failed — 3 new, zero regressions
  • deno lint / deno fmt --check: clean
  • Docs page for danet.land written separately in the docs repo (fundamentals/application-host.md)

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added a public application-host injection token for accessing the running application and router.
    • The token is available during module initialization and updates when a newer application starts.
    • Exported the application-host functionality through the main package entry point.
  • Tests

    • Added coverage for application access, bootstrap route registration, and sequential application initialization.
  • Documentation

    • Documented application-host behavior, usage, and process-wide resolution rules.
  • Style

    • Standardized formatting and imports across affected source files and tests.

…oken

Register the running DanetApplication in the injector under the public
APPLICATION_HOST token (constructor + re-assert at init start, most
recently initialized app wins), so injectables and module lifecycle
hooks can reach the app and its Hono router without an external
reference. NestJS HttpAdapterHost analogue; unblocks forRoot-style
extension modules such as @danet/graphql.

Review Change Stack

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change adds the public APPLICATION_HOST injection token, registers DanetApplication in the global injector, and adds lifecycle integration tests. It also adds Claude agent definitions, refreshes graphify outputs, and applies formatting-only updates.

Changes

Application host injection

Layer / File(s) Summary
Application host contract
openspec/changes/archive/2026-08-17-add-application-host/..., openspec/specs/application-lifecycle/spec.md
The OpenSpec documents define application-host injection, lifecycle behavior, design details, and implementation tasks.
Token export and application registration
src/app-host/..., src/app.ts, src/mod.ts
APPLICATION_HOST is publicly exported. DanetApplication registers itself during construction and initialization.
Application host integration tests
spec/application-host.test.ts, src/deps_test.ts
Tests cover injectable access, bootstrap route mounting, sequential application replacement, and strict assertions.

Repository workflow and generated artifacts

Layer / File(s) Summary
Claude agent workflows

Existing source and test files receive formatting-only changes without observable behavior changes.

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 6c3b5

The PR adds a globally injectable application host, but it currently updates that host during construction as well as initialization. Creating a second application before initializing it can make consumers receive an uninitialized host, creating a concrete integration risk; merge should wait for the lifecycle behavior to be corrected or explicitly accepted.

Add an independent formatter check.

As per coding guidelines, **/*.ts uses single quotes and tabs, and contributors must run deno fmt before committing.

Process:
1. Read the OpenSpec change artifacts you are given (spec deltas are the behavior contract, design is the intended approach).
2. `git -C /Users/sorikairo/Code/Savory/Danet diff` plus `git status --porcelain` to see every touched/added file; read the new files in full.

## Context

See proposal.md. Modeled on NestJS's `HttpAdapterHost`: `@nestjs/graphql`'s `GraphQLModule` constructor-injects the host and its `onModuleInit` hook mounts the endpoint on the underlying server. In Danet the analogous pieces are token-based value providers (`@Inject('token')`), the `app.router` Hono getter, and the `OnAppBootstrap` hook that `init()` fires after `bootstrap()` completes (`src/app.ts:235-241`). The missing piece is only the registration of the application itself.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Close the application in a finally block.

The route test calls await app.close() only after fetch() and the assertion. If either operation fails, the listening server remains open and can leak resources into later tests. Wrap initialization, listening, fetching, and assertions in try/finally.

As per coding guidelines: spec/**/*.test.ts tests must use app.listen(0) and always await app.close() for cleanup.

Register APPLICATION_HOST only during init().

The constructor currently replaces the initialized host immediately. This occurs before second.init() and exposes an uninitialized application's router. Remove constructor registration and add a regression test that constructs second after first.init().

In `@src/app.ts` around lines 120 - 134, Remove the constructor call to
registerApplicationHost so APPLICATION_HOST is not registered during
construction, and invoke registration only from the application’s init() flow
after initialization is complete. Preserve the existing registerApplicationHost
guard and add a regression test that initializes first, then constructs second,
verifying the initialized host remains registered until second.init().
