…3558) ## Outcome Maintainers can now trace each provider profile to its definition, import point, creation or attachment path, and tests. The inventory identifies retained gateway-catalog dependencies and a reproduced native-local warning gap, so an empty-catalog qualification cannot be mistaken for complete provider coverage. ## Reason The earlier #12940 inventory predates the merged native-local paths and several focused repairs. This inventory is pinned to main commit `42d2ae6938a5a22a307644168aa888506d69f96a` and distinguishes shipped behavior from pending work. ### Related issues Fixes #13345. Refs #12940, #12558, and #13346. Focused warning repair: #13557. Model Router profile disposition: #13560. ## Changes - Add the provider-profile inventory to the development references and link it from the development guide. - Map owned and operator-supplied profiles, classify every production `upsertProvider` create caller, and record repeat, collision, and advisory-warning behavior. - Reconcile the merged native paths and #13356. Keep pending #13528 and #13556 outside the source baseline. - Record the remaining create paths: `inference set` outside the shared helper, the Hermes rebuild preflight, and the legacy `nvidia-nim` catalog type `nvidia`. Record Model Router as having no owner, and the selected path's missing caller-level warning evidence. - Record the maintainer decision: Deepak Jain selects native NVIDIA hosted inference for #13346 because it has a checked-in profile and lifecycle tests. The inventory records the selection; #13346 owns the disposable empty-catalog run, matching-profile reuse, collision refusal, and terminal cleanup. Runtime behavior and the OpenShell pin are unchanged. The warning repair belongs in its own PR under #13557. ## Verification - `npm run docs`: passed, with 0 errors and 2 Fern warnings. - Inventory source and test audit: every local link resolves, and the caller table covers all production `upsertProvider` calls found in the baseline. - `npx vitest run --project cli src/lib/inference/native-nvidia.test.ts src/lib/inference/native-local.test.ts src/lib/inference/native-provider/hosted.test.ts src/lib/inference/native-provider/custom.test.ts src/lib/onboard/sandbox-create/provider-publication.test.ts src/lib/adapters/openshell/provider-adapter-cli-profile-warning.test.ts src/lib/messaging/applier/provider-application.test.ts src/lib/hermes-tool-gateway-provider-profile.test.ts`: 269 passed; one Hermes profile test timed out. - `npx vitest run --project cli src/lib/hermes-tool-gateway-provider-profile.test.ts`: isolated rerun passed all 22 tests. - Disposable warning regression: both drift and timeout cases failed because no warning was emitted after successful inspection and attachment. #13557 records the reproduction; the temporary tests were removed and are not committed coverage. - Normal commit and pre-push hooks passed, including publication validation and CLI/plugin type checks. - Required checks passed on `e74fea0f6cb6849001d368391fb4cc4e5a85023d`, including [PR CI](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39461234352). - [Advisor review](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39461524444): all nine specialists returned clear results, and the no-blockers gate passed. - No runtime tests were added because this PR changes only the inventory and its discovery link. - Selected-release execution and cleanup were not run; #13346 owns that evidence. - The diff contains no secrets, API keys, or credentials. ## Review notes Both changed references fall under the `.agents/**` sensitive-path policy. Independent source and documentation review of commit `e74fea0f6cb6849001d368391fb4cc4e5a85023d` found no blocking issues. CodeRabbit skipped automatic review because this is a draft. Maintainer review remains required. DGX Station validation is not applicable: this PR changes no Station behavior. --- Signed-off-by: Deepak Jain <deepujain@gmail.com> <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> <!-- coderabbit-ai-generated:v1 --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **Documentation** - Added development guidance covering provider profile ownership, import points, and retained catalog dependencies. - Added a comprehensive provider-profile inventory for inference, messaging, MCP, runtime identity, credentials, and related routes. - Documented profile creation, ownership, verification, reuse, collision handling, identity and credential binding, warnings, known gaps, and release validation requirements. - No exported or public entity declarations were changed. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Signed-off-by: Deepak Jain <deepujain@gmail.com>

Outcome
nemoclaw credentials add <name> --type nvidia --credential NVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEYstill fails when<name>is notnvidia-prod, but the error now says why and names the credential names that the gateway profile declares. Before, the command printed only "Ask the gateway operator to inspect or import this profile and confirm its credential names", so users could not tell thatNVIDIA_API_KEYis the accepted name.Reason
#13353 added a pre-registration check: every
--credentialname must be declared by the selected gateway profile. The native NVIDIA path (nemoclaw-nvidia-inference-v1,NVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEY) applies only to thenvidia-prodprovider. Any other provider name with--type nvidiauses the OpenShellnvidiaprofile, which declares onlyNVIDIA_API_KEY. The check correctly rejectsNVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEY, but the action discarded the adapter'sprofile_incompatiblemessage and printed a generic line. The help examplecredentials add nvidia-prod --type nvidia --credential NVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEYdid not say that it works only fornvidia-prod, so QA reused it with another name. This change keeps the #13343 contract. It does not add an alias or relax the check.

Changes
src/lib/adapters/openshell/provider-adapter-cli.ts: theprofile_incompatiblemessage for undeclared registration credentials now lists the declared credential names (Declared credential names: NVIDIA_API_KEY.). The list is capped at five names plus an omitted count (... and 2 more), so a large profile cannot produce an unbounded diagnostic. These are environment-variable names thatisValidOpenShellProviderCredentialNamealready validates; no credential values are included.src/lib/actions/credentials-add.ts: for inspection failures withkind: "command"andreason: "profile_incompatible", print the adapter message and the next step (Retry with a declared credential name, or ask the gateway operator to update this profile.). Other schema and command failures keep the existing guidance.src/commands/credentials/add.ts: add the examplecredentials add nvidia-extra --type nvidia --credential NVIDIA_API_KEY, and state in the--typehelp that onlynvidia-prodacceptsNVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEY.docs/reference/commands.mdx: thecredentials addreference states the samenvidia-prod/ declared-name boundary, the rejection behavior, and thenvidia-extraexample.and 2 more. Insrc/lib/actions/credentials-provider-adapter.test.ts, the existing Phase 1 slice 5: Route providers and credentials through the OpenShell adapter #9806 inspection-failure test becomes a two-rowit.each; the new [All Platforms][CLI&UX] credentials add --type nvidia fails with Could not verify provider profile 'nvidia' so a second NVIDIA Endpoints credential cannot be registered #13541 row checks the exact failure lines, the inspection request, nocreateProvidercall, and no credential value in the output. The file stays within its 1500-line budget.src/lib/actions/credentials-native-hosted.test.tsadds the success path through the CLI adapter: an exportednvidiaprofile that declaresNVIDIA_API_KEY, ademo-nvidiaregistration, the profile export call, theprovider createrequest with the credential name and value in its environment, exit 0, and no credential value in the result.Verification

Sensitive path:
credentials. The change only adds information to a failure path that already stops before provider creation. The added text contains profile-declared credential names, not values. Review context: the check and its contract come from #13353 / #13343 (@rsliter).QA expectation for #13541 ("
demo-nvidiawithNVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEYexits 0") conflicts with the #13343 contract. With this change, the supported command for an extra NVIDIA credential is--credential NVIDIA_API_KEY. In v0.0.135, the storedNVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEYwas not a declared env var of thenvidiaprofile, so OpenShell likely would not have injected it.Signed-off-by: Rui Luo ruluo@nvidia.com
