Reviewed latest PR commit 5a2791ea8457a4298ec452f4214ba4e29b143437 against base SHA 88900837e9705c105470c6c3e33835e4b2a9a523.
Approve. I found no blocking defect in the complete diff or adjacent input, image-build, inference-route, configuration, and E2E paths.
The OpenClaw patch is version- and digest-gated. It preserves explicit-message precedence, the 4 MiB limit, UTF-8 validation, and ordinary file access. It reads only inherited non-terminal stdin, applies a bounded deadline, and is staged in both image build contexts. The Deep Agents Code changes use one shared model and endpoint predicate for configuration and readiness, preserve the selected managed credential route, and retain fail-closed session attachment.
Required checks pass. Focused regression tests cover slow and persistent pipes, terminal input, empty and invalid input, size limits, denied stdin reopening, patch drift, optimized build staging, classifier identity, endpoint normalization, request payloads, and response validation.
Security review: PASS for secrets and credentials, input validation, authentication and authorization, dependencies, error handling and logging, cryptography and data protection, configuration, security testing, and system security. The change adds no credential, authority, dependency, cryptographic, or network-policy boundary. Input remains bounded and validation fails closed.
The PR Review Advisor reviewed this latest PR commit and recommends no additional live E2E selector. Supplemental E2E run 39372650589 tested the same commit. Its retained dispatch receipt selects cloud-onboard, full-e2e, and ubuntu-repo-cloud-langchain-deepagents-code; the retained result reports all selected jobs passed.
…#13513) ## Outcome Rebuild the sandbox images with patched system libraries, update Hermes's vulnerable HTTP and image-processing dependencies, and upgrade all four production MCP SDK graphs to 1.32.0. Image checks reject stale package inventories and preserve the existing layer limit and runtime selection. ## Reason The October 19 scan of v0.0.135 reports vulnerabilities shared across the managed images. This PR targets 22 distinct findings: 17 newly patched findings and five existing libssh2 backports retained here. CI also exposed GHSA-22jm-h49p-29qw in MCP SDK 1.31.0; 1.32.0 is its first fixed release. The 21 Vim findings already have upstream fixes in the pinned package; Vim remains available. The npm http-cache-semantics advisory has no fixed release and remains open. Scanner closure requires a rescan of rebuilt image digests. This PR adds no suppressions. ## Changes - Update Debian security pins and the libssh2/zlib backports. Preserve patched Perl module precedence and Debian Debconf imports. Use immutable, checksum-verified native package sources. - Update Hermes to httpx2/httpcore2 2.12.0 and Sharp 0.35.4 with libheif 1.23.2. Validate decompression bounds, stream cleanup, SOCKS TLS, and image decoding. Preserve writable `/tmp` and the 124-layer import limit. - Use one package specification for image inventories, installed-package probes, CLI admission, and CI base selection. Separate checks had accepted incomplete inventories; regression tests now reject stale versions and missing packages. - Track direct Dockerfile bind-mount inputs in build contexts, source identity, staging validation, and Pi receipt parity. Context and receipt tests cover these dependencies. - Upgrade MCP SDK locks, offline archive pins, audit identities, and the discovery bundle together. The offline cache selector must read the owning manifest to recognize npm's exact transitive overrides; regression tests retain root-declaration, version, origin, integrity, and bundled-package checks. - Keep Podman lifecycle operations within the selected runtime. Preserve Docker behavior and record forbidden Docker calls in the Podman CI guard. - Refresh both Pi qualification records from one successful, authenticated managed-image run and update their authority hashes. - Integrate main through `f599930e` to consume the merged native-inference E2E fixes. Capture cloud install failures before cleanup using the caller’s isolated HOME and selected runtime; Docker and Podman regression cases verify routing and credential filtering. Existing assertions and timeouts remain intact. ## Verification - Current commit: `d871649a6273b5f5777c4090e032514b85a9806c`. [Required CI](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39523009111) passed on attempt 1, including all 12 CLI shards, static checks, compilation, and reviewed npm audits. [Portable rootless E2E](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39523009331) also passed. The [Advisor review](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39525166198) passed: all nine specialist artifacts were downloaded, their SHA-256 digests verified, and their findings and summaries read. Each reports no blocking P0/P1 repository change. [Managed-image qualification](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39523009175) passed, including all image builds and combined activation on Docker AMD64, Docker ARM64, and rootless Podman. [Focused Docker/Podman cloud onboarding](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39528414009) passed, including the Relevant E2E aggregate. Its dispatch receipt and both runtime artifacts were authenticated and inspected against this commit. Public installation, credential migration, corporate CA handling, reasoning metadata, downloads, API-key process checks, six filesystem checks, diagnostics, and cleanup passed. Ten DeepAgents-only split checks were intentionally skipped because these runs use OpenClaw. [Self-hosted GPU qualification, attempt 2](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39523013531/attempts/2) passed. Its authenticated artifact binds this commit and records 24,072 MiB GPU allocation against a 21,777 MiB minimum, matching 262,144-token model/agent contexts, unauthorized HTTP 401, authenticated model access, a real OpenClaw turn, public destroy, and already-absent provider cleanup. Historical results below do not establish a full E2E pass for this commit. - [Self-hosted GPU attempt 1](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39523013531/attempts/1) stopped before GPU execution: its 3,000-second publication wait expired while Podman image activation was still running. The complete failed-job log was read. After image qualification succeeded, the trusted-base verifier accepted the exact candidate catalog and the GPU assertion audit was checked against the merged source. Failed jobs were rerun once as attempt 2. The image prerequisite and GPU live test passed. No assertion, deadline, or security check was weakened. - Local merged-tree validation: 290 tests passed with two existing skips; 113 image/receipt tests passed. After the final table-driven diagnostic-test adjustment, all 18 diagnostic/runtime-provider tests passed. Strict Pi source-parity validation passed. - Normal isolated commit and pre-push hooks: passed. GitHub commit verification: Verified. The secret scan passed; the diff contains no secrets. Actual hooks run without host credentials or network access. - Authentic AMD64 and ARM64 Pi records come from the same successful [qualification run 39497514794](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39497514794), with verified artifact identities and matching source/cohort/release. The new merge preserves Pi source parity; no receipt was fabricated or bypassed. - Historical commit `beaad2dc`: [required CI](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39505717029), [managed images](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39505717007), and [self-hosted GPU attempt 2](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39505723946/attempts/2) passed. Managed-image evidence covers all eight image builds/startups and activation on Docker AMD64, Docker ARM64, and rootless Podman. The three agent MCP bridges and protected startup on both architectures also passed in the reviewer’s broader run. - That historical [full E2E run](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39514186658) ended with ten failed test jobs. Complete failure logs were inspected. Bootstrap/latency’s obsolete shared-route assertions and DeepAgents’ native-parser assertion are addressed by merged upstream fixes #13529 and #13444, now integrated here. New-commit execution is still required. - Historical E2E disposition: the missing-container cloud startup did not recur in either current Docker or Podman onboarding run. The diagnostics change is not claimed to be the root-cause fix. Four hosted-inference HTTP 404s, Personal policy readback failure also reproduced on the exact PR base and later main, and a protected GPU audit failure before GPU execution remain separate inherited or external findings. Pi and native-switch tests explicitly select the old hosted model, so upstream’s default-model update alone does not fix every 404. - The [protected GPU audit](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39514186658/job/118956879469) uses trusted-main code at `f599930e`, which synthesizes an MCP SDK 1.31.0 archive graph and reports two high advisories. This PR pins 1.32.0, but cannot alter that trusted controller. Trusted main needs the reviewed audit repair or maintainer disposition. No exception or trust-boundary bypass was added. - Earlier security validation includes libssh2 packet regressions, the zlib failure-before/pass-after test, Perl tests, installed-package and ABI checks, HTTP/TLS/image-decoding tests, and MCP task ownership isolation. The SDK repair’s 185 focused tests and seven growth checks passed. Mcporter/discovery audits had zero high/critical findings and four moderate findings; 121 signatures and 16 attestations verified. Standalone discovery type-check errors reproduced on the previous SDK and are not claimed fixed. ## Review notes Sensitive changes include security builders, agent images, image admission, onboarding, workflows, and validation tooling. The source changes and affected callers were self-reviewed. The latest diagnostic repair also has an itemized source audit through cloud checks, cleanup, and artifact upload; current Docker and Podman cloud startup and cleanup are now verified by authenticated runtime artifacts. [Rebecca’s review of `beaad2dc`](#13513 (review)) found no blocking correctness or security defect, but was a COMMENT, not approval. Her requested evidence is now available: CI is terminal, the required upstream stale-test fixes are integrated, and current Docker/Podman cloud onboarding plus self-hosted GPU qualification passed. The current-commit Advisor review is complete with no blocking findings. The single requested CodeRabbit review was acknowledged but skipped because its incremental review state could not be recovered; its last reviewed commit remains `beaad2dc`. Current-commit CodeRabbit coverage is therefore incomplete. The PR stays ready for review as requested; no approval or merge is claimed. All nine [Advisor specialists on the prior commit](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/39510516486) completed. Eight reported no findings; one reported documentation drift. The aggregate remains failed. That finding compares changed onboarding output with documentation for the separate, unchanged status command. Its status caller and NIM renderer match the base; the documentation remains accurate. No gate or artifact was modified to clear it. The prior CodeRabbit dashboard-lookup advisory is nonblocking because the production caller supplies the lookup. Existing activation evidence has two limits: plugin-inspection exit status does not prove loaded status, and parent PONG plus a tool result does not prove child-agent completion. Rebuilt-digest rescanning, the 21 Vim adjudications, and disposition of the unfixed npm advisory remain security-review follow-ups. --- Signed-off-by: Prekshi Vyas <prekshiv@nvidia.com> <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> <!-- coderabbit-ai-generated:v1 --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **Security** - Updated bundled system libraries and security packages, including zlib and libssh2, with stricter validation. - Added checks for HTTP compression, TLS connections, image processing, dependency integrity, and malformed data. - Standardized security inventory validation for built and candidate images. - **Bug Fixes** - Podman environments no longer trigger Docker-specific detection, inspection, recovery, or cleanup. - Sandbox recreation preserves runtime and image metadata more reliably. - One-shot tasks isolate background completion handling. - **Infrastructure** - Updated the MCP SDK and refreshed Pi sandbox qualification metadata. - Improved build-source tracking and dependency lockfile validation. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Signed-off-by: Prekshi Vyas <prekshiv@nvidia.com>
Outcome
Scripts can pipe messages into
nemoclaw <sandbox> agentwithout an inline--message. Previously, the command rejected piped input or failed to reopen/dev/stdininside the sandbox. Stalled pipe input now reaches the input deadline even when reopening stdin succeeds.Reason
The pinned OpenClaw parser does not read implicit stdin and reopens explicit message files by path. Sandboxes can deny reopening an inherited pipe. Successful reopening also needs the same deadline so a producer that never closes input cannot leave the command waiting indefinitely.
Related issues
Fixes #13130.
Changes
A version-checked image-build patch reads inherited stdin directly. It preserves inline-message precedence, file permissions, UTF-8 validation and the existing size limit. Ordinary message files keep the native reader. The Dockerfile applies the patch, and both build-context paths stage it. Remove this bridge when the pinned OpenClaw supports the behavior upstream.
The input deadline defaults to 30 seconds. A positive
--timeoutsets it in seconds, within Node's timer limit. Tests cover implicit input, denied and successful stdin reopening, stalled producers, dispatch and staged image contents. The command reference documents the EOF requirement and deadline. The selected Deep Agents Code qualification exposed two configuration gaps. Readiness now uses the managed Ultra profile's required nonempty-content parameter, with one shared TypeScript predicate for the probe and configuration generator. Both Ultra model IDs share the same policy. The public NVIDIA endpoint stays excluded with or without a trailing slash, so configuration and readiness send the same parameters. The dependency review identifies the shared identity module as the TypeScript owner of those model IDs.
Generated DCode configuration also selects the managed provider and model identity for its separate Auto classifier request. This uses the existing endpoint and OpenShell credential placeholder instead of relying on an unrelated default model. Manual remains the default approval mode; the native classification policy, denials, deadlines and fallback to human approval remain active. The malformed-response check still requires rejection before session attachment while respecting native response-body suppression.

The blocker gate passed.5a2791ea84: cloud onboarding, Deep Agents Code repository onboarding and hosted inference, and OpenClaw installation, onboarding and an agent turn. The dispatch and result artifacts bind these results to this commit. This selected run is not full release qualification.Review notes
Scope decision: include the narrow DCode configuration corrections under the recorded maintainer direction to repair the selected failing qualification. Main's comparison run did not execute this typed target, and current main has no relevant configuration fix to consume. The classifier uses the selected managed route so the existing Auto capability can operate without another provider credential or egress destination. No approval or credential boundary is waived.
