Subject: Critical Technical Issues with Texture Conversion and Shader Node Structures
Texture Format Compatibility Issue
Current Status: Attempting to modify character clothing textures for custom recoloring.
Problem: The source files cannot be edited directly in image processing software (such as Photoshop). Previously, these files were in DDS format, but currently, they appear as .tex.xxxxxxxx (RE Engine proprietary format). This prevents standard texture modification workflows and requires specialized conversion tools to revert them to a manipulatable format.
Shader Editor Configuration Loss
Current Status: Analyzing the 3D model’s material properties within the Shader Editor.
Problem: The complex shader node network (Texture Maps, Normal Maps, and Material Logic) has completely disappeared. Currently, only two basic nodes remain: Principled BSDF linked to Material Output. This loss of data prevents the proper mapping of textures to the 3D mesh and results in incorrect material rendering
