Feature Request

• Change the status bar indicator color/appearance when the overtype mode is turned on

Motivation

It's hard to find the Overtype indicator in the status bar

• Many extensions also put indicators in the status bar and it could become hard to read all items.
• In this case, it's hard to spot what is the correct indicator when you want to check if the current overtype mode is insert or overtype

No easy visual clue when overtype mode was mistakenly turned on

• I use the insert mode most of the time I'm typing on VS Code.
• But frequently I forgot that the overtype mode is on.
• In these cases, I would replace some unwanted portions of text and may have to undo them.
• This leads to losing focus, time, and productivity besides being annoying and disturbing the humor.

Request

• As the insert mode is the default when the extension is not installed, one would expect that the indicator should be highlighted only in overtype mode.
• Using the highlight/mouse-over color should be enough to make the status bar indicator easier to spot when the overtype mode is turned on. But I'd rather let this be decided further as an implementation detail.
• Additionally having a setting to disable/enable this feature would make sense to some users.
