I am confident this is a false report from the AV used. I had a major issue months ago when rebuilding CDP8 using Visual Studio, in that my own AV McAffee quarantined dozens of programs the moment they were compiled. Programs compiled as Debug Builds did not trigger the AV at all. I sent a couple to McAffee for testing, and they all duly came back whitelisted. No help to me as a developer, needless to say. In the end I simply removed McAffee and switched to Norton. Like many others, it seems McAffee uses AI-based heuristics to detect viruses, etc, rarther than by reference to a database. No program built using MinGW causes any problems. The binaries are larger, however.

As for "asciiget", this is not used by Soundloom. It was a rudimentary utility to print charaters in a text file to the console in binary/hex, something done easily these days with any hex editor. As such, you will lose nothing important by simply deleting it.
