Most of the npm scripts and dev-tasks package can be replaced with Nx. Configure a typescript project, but leave the JS code as is. Configure jest, but keep support for all the mocha tests.
The release functionality will need to remain.
Also, upgrade Node to v18 (if nodegit allows).
