Namespace

Configuration and Properties
Each namespace can have its own settings:

• Password protection (optional) namespace properties #31
• Size limits (optional maxsize parameter)
• Access flags (public/private) namespace properties #31
• Mode settings (user key or sequential)
• WORM (Write Once Read Multiple) mode change namespace as singleton & worm implementation #30
• Lock: read-only or normal mode namespace properties #31
• freeze: read-write protected or normal mode -> probably not needed, only needed for 0-db backup?

Namespace Operations

• Select a namespace using the SELECT command
• Creating namespaces: NSNEW
• Deleting namespaces: NSDEL
• Get namespace info : NSINFO
• List namespace : NSLIST
• Change namespace settings : NSSET

Default Namespace

There's always at least one namespace called "default" that clients use if they don't explicitly select a namespace.

Authentication

0-db supports secure and legacy plain text authentication.
We will only support the secure one.

Hook System

The Hook System in 0-db is a mechanism that allows the database to execute external scripts or applications in response to specific events or actions within the database. This enables integration with external systems and provides a way to implement custom behaviors when certain database events occur.

work flow:

• Registration: When 0-db starts, it can be configured with a hook executable path
• Triggering: Various events in the database can trigger hooks
• Execution: The hook is executed as a separate process with specific arguments
• Monitoring: The database can either wait for hook completion or continue processing
