Function panel display

Hi,

I wanted to discuss of a purely cosmetic issue. It concerns the display “function(Param...)” in the function section. Since we're in the “Function” section, this seems redundant, because we already know that it's a function. Another problem, is that we wastes space and often it's truncates long function names. The only minor benefit is seeing the parameter names, but personally, I prefer either to document my function or use the button to view the source code.

If we can’t completely remove this visual element, perhaps we could add a filter to hide it (or show it based on your opinion on the matter).

@mburtin , thanks for the report, and the screenshot is exactly the right one.

Your instinct about wasted space is correct, and there is more going on than cosmetics.

Your screenshot also turned up a second, separate bug: your names are being cut off mid-letter with no ... to signal it, while the values in the same rows do get one. That one is a straightforward defect and I have filed it on its own.

Two issues are now open:

#15770 for the redundant signature text and the column sizing
#15771 for the missing ellipsis on truncated names

Both will go through triage. Thank you for pushing on this, your screenshot is what made the sizing behavior obvious.
