[Feature Request] Antialiasing on PNG exports or vector exports?

Hello!

Loving how much I'm using this plugin again lately. Thank you for keeping this plugin going!

I'm using PNG exports a lot for my blog posts using my raw handwriting.

I'm not sure if I'm handling this the right way but when I export a page as a vector in native supernote, I have to keep the white background.

Your plugin bypasses this but can't export as vector and the aliasing is very noticable on the ink stroke edges.

Do I have options to export with transparency layer but have smoother ink strokes?

What is the vector format Supernote outputs? Svg?Have you tried the beta? Does it have the alias issue? I'll have to retry the beta sorry, but I will indeed try the SVG filetype when I get a moment, just on lunch now and short for time!

Just gave it a quick shot before I head back out.

SVG works, but doesn't export on my website with proper transparency, invert options like png does(dark mode vs. light mode).

I notice your PNG exports as 1920x2560 where as Ratta's note export offers 200% making output 3840x5120. Could there be something there with "upscaling" that could improve the quality?

Quick note on the transparency/invert question: both the PNG and SVG exports already render on a fully transparent background with black ink — nothing about light/dark mode is baked into the file. The "invert for dark mode" you see inside Obsidian is just a CSS filter applied to the <img>, and you can do the exact same thing on your own site with a couple lines of CSS — no re-export needed, and it behaves identically whether the src is .png or .svg:

    filter: invert(1);
  }
}

That flips black ink to white (and vice versa) at render time, so one transparent export works on both light and dark backgrounds. If your embed markup can't take a class, filter: invert(1) on whatever selector matches the image works the same way.

If the .svg specifically isn't showing transparency on your site while the .png does, that points to something in your site's rendering/build pipeline rather than the export itself — some static-site image pipelines rasterize SVGs through a non-browser renderer that doesn't handle the embedded base64 PNG's alpha the same way a browser does. What's the site built with (WordPress, Jekyll, Hugo, something else), and is the SVG going in as a plain <img> tag or through something that processes it first?

Separately looking at the 200%/upscale idea now — will follow up.

It looks like the vectorized ink might only be usable on .pdf files? Maybe .epubs too?

.Note exports only do the +200% export - which probably isn't quite the same as true vectorized ink strokes.

Might be worth reaching out to Ratta about this kind of support with your plugin?

I'm very impressed @philips! Hope you can figure out all the checkpoints. I'll admit stickers don't sound easy, but even those would be really slick. I rarely use them, but would find it handy to have them available.

Edit: Also as of now, I'm noticing that SVG exports in the plugin when opened in the browser show the white background of the page color. Is it possible to introduce an option to export SVG with transparency? For publishing my handwritten notes online, this would allow for the website background to take control, and allow for much more styling options. I'm assuming once this is done, I can use invert options to support light/dark modes.
