No, just no. I wanted more people to work on this project and not to make their own versions so I will not relicense any of my code. |

As a reminder, even if an alternative licence had been granted - which it hasn't - you'd still be required to provide source code for all of the releases you've made so far. The licence doesn't stop applying if you don't understand it and asking for forgiveness doesn't count as following it. |

I wanted to start by saying thank you for the development of the SummerCart64. It's an incredible piece of tech and easily my favorite way to play Nintendo 64 games.
I'm not a programmer(I envy those that are though!) but have been using Claude with good effect to get the results I crave. I developed Retro Shelf 64 for myself, a native N64 box-art launcher for the SummerCart64 as a launcher of my N64 library.
A buddy of mine said that I should monetize it and let people enjoy my work. I thought that sounded good and thus created a patreon where I now have a small group of supporters.
My goal was never to create a ROM launcher for every game ever made. I wanted to recreate the feeling of browsing a physical game collection, a curated library that celebrates the Nintendo 64's best games and encourages people to discover titles they may have missed. My project grew and my goal became to build a community that would have an amazing collective experience("You've gotta get Sin and Punishment this game slaps!"). So I decided I would let people vote on what games become featured(they still have to obtain the game themselves).
Recently, one of my patrons asked whether I had the proper licensing in place for the portions of the SummerCart64 code that Retro Shelf uses. It was a good question. Your README on Github notes that alternative license options may be available on request, so that's what I'm writing to ask: I'd like to obtain a license to use your flashcart boot subsystem in Retro Shelf 64 as a closed-source project.
In particular: boot.c, boot.h, boot_io.h, cic.c, cic.h, reboot.S, reboot.h and your 64DD launch code, the disk geometry tables, the .ndd system-area parser, and the THB / sector-table / disk-mapping logic, ported from disk_info.c and flashcart/sc64/sc64.c
If you'd rather not grant that, I completely understand and will respect it. In that case I'll remove your code entirely. I don't want to use your work against your wishes. I just want to do this the right way. Is this something I could obtain so that I can continue to share my passion project and build a community of those that appreciate what I have made? You can view the project over on my youtube at https://www.youtube.com/@retroshelf64
I'm happy to share a build, give more detail on exactly what's used, or answer anything else. Thank you again for the work, and for considering this.
