Repeatedly asked to sign in again using GitHub

Seems to be similar issue to #3409 (though no idea if same cause) but as of a couple of hours ago I kept getting this:

Clicking Allow opens browser to the GH authentication page then ends up here:

But nothing much seems to happen as a result of this... clicking the link does nothing unless I have VSC closed, in which case it just opens VSC whereupon I get the same 'The extension 'GitHub Pull Requests' wants you to sign in again using GitHub.' modal again

Same here, trying to reproduce again with just the GitHub Pull Requests extension enabled but here's a noisier version

Same here,a guys in #3409 says,"I ran into this issue recently after our org started using GitHub Enterprise w/ SAML. Latest release of VSCode with this plug-in v0.90.0. IIRC, To fix it I logged out of VSCode from the little person icon in the lower right, then I logged back in."It may be helpful.
But I didn't do as he do,I click the under button and it turn into "Settings Sync is On",then the bug still exists.

The updates say it is mitigated but we are all still having this issue.
Update - The degradation affecting Issues has been mitigated. We are monitoring to ensure stability.

Yeah having the same issue and the browser and browser link are useless. You guys over @ gitpull are dropping the ball. Screwing up my dev experience today :(

This issue is so annoying, even cancelling does not stop the issue from popping up again and again.

Disabling the extension for now as this is a constant bug: 'Sign in failed: Error: Requires authentication'. Will use the CLI as I vaguely remember how to do that .... lol
