Use Ktor & Annotations

I'm an Android developer trying to learn how to transition to backend development, but the problem is... I don't really know what kind of applications I want to write! I'd like to discuss the application development mindset after transitioning.

I just read about Koin Annotations and Ktor annotations in general. The implementation does look alot like Dagger/Hilt! Also I read that it runs on compile time, which is a huge plus if you're into that!

I don't have a plan to use it in the near future for this project, but you are free to issue changes or fork this (which you already have) if you wanted to implement ktor annotations.

You could use the annotation to most of the module and simplify it by just annotating it and not creating any module files the standard Koin way.

For example:

class NoteRoute(
    private val noteRepo: NotesRepositoryImpl,
) {}

val appModule = {
    singleof(::NoteRoute)
}

You can directly register it as a singleton like this

@Singleton
class NoteRoute(
    private val noteRepo: NotesRepositoryImpl,
) {}

For what kind of application that you want to make, start simple like this note taking app, then go your way up to AI backend services.
