Code of Conduct

Our commitment

The CDIN Runtime community is committed to being welcoming, respectful and constructive. We want people with different backgrounds, identities, abilities and levels of experience to be able to ask questions, learn, report problems and contribute without harassment or humiliation.

This applies regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, or level of experience.

Expected behavior

Please:

  • be respectful and considerate, including when you disagree;
  • explain technical criticism with reasons, examples or evidence;
  • assume good faith while remaining open to correcting mistakes;
  • accept responsibility for mistakes and help repair their impact;
  • keep discussions focused on the work and make space for new contributors;
  • respect people's privacy and obtain consent before sharing personal information or private conversations.

Unacceptable behavior

The following behavior is not acceptable in project spaces or when representing the project:

  • harassment, threats, stalking or unwanted sexual attention;
  • insults, slurs, discriminatory language or personal attacks;
  • deliberate intimidation, repeated disruptive behavior or sustained bad-faith arguments;
  • publishing private information without permission;
  • sharing sexualized imagery or content where it is not appropriate;
  • abusing project tools, review systems or moderation channels to target others;
  • any other conduct that would reasonably make participation unsafe or hostile.

Technical disagreement, direct feedback and good-faith criticism are welcome. They must address ideas and behavior, not attack a person's identity or worth.

Where this applies

This Code applies to repository issues and pull requests, discussions, code reviews, project communication channels, project events and other spaces where someone is acting on behalf of CDIN. It also applies when project-related conduct outside those spaces has a direct and serious effect on community safety.

Reporting a concern

If someone behaves in a way that violates this Code, contact the maintainers at bitsgenix@gmail.com. Include a description of what happened, where it happened and any information needed to review the concern. Please do not post a report containing sensitive personal information in a public issue.

Reports will be handled as discreetly as practical. The maintainers will review the information, may ask for clarification, and will decide on an appropriate response. A report will be shared only with people who need it to address the situation, except where disclosure is required to protect people or comply with law. Retaliation against someone who raises a concern in good faith is not acceptable.

Enforcement

Maintainers are responsible for applying this Code fairly and consistently. Depending on the severity and pattern of the behavior, they may:

  1. explain the concern and request that the behavior stop;
  2. issue a formal warning or ask for a correction or apology;
  3. temporarily limit participation in a discussion, review or other project space;
  4. remove content or reject a contribution;
  5. suspend or permanently end participation in project spaces.

The response will consider the context, impact, history and risk of continued harm. Maintainers may take immediate action when needed to protect community members. Anyone involved in a complaint should avoid handling enforcement when they have a direct conflict of interest; they should pass it to another available maintainer where possible.
