json gets parsed, serialized and deserialized a couple times along the way and the way it's handled is slightly different between pasting in the 2 boxes

Steps to reproduce:

1. https://pastebin.com/E9V9KcLJ
2. Compile it because this one is ancient, paste it into smaller box but it doesn't work
3. compile it again and paste it into big box and it works

Expected Behavior: works

Actual Behavior: doesn't work until you paste it into big box
