If you want to force people to use your garbage software, then do a better job than this:
Your software is rubbish, and I'm not referring to the Orca Slicer part, that is fine, but everything the Flashforge team has touched, is just horrible, ugly, and featureless, the screen shot above is what you guys consider to be an interface?
I was so disgusted by your crap software, I spent a few hours hacking into your OS on the printer, I now have root access, I have enabled Mainsail and Moonraker, and I will continue to fix everything myself.
The touch screen is missing so many features one would expect to be present, even defaulting the machine, doesn't really do that, I went through the files on the internal storage, all original configs and settings persist on a "factory reset", it even keeps Wifi credentials, not good if you want to resell the machine, no way manually trigger a full recalibration, I could go on, and yes, I have designed and built many Klipper based 3D printers, so I come from position of experience.
If you are going to force us to use your software stack, then do a better job, make it actually good, or just allow root access and let us take over, there is no point locking it down like you have, it just makes it slightly harder for us to fix things, you must have know, we were going to get in, specially with all the tools we have access to now.
A couple hashed lines and we have a full web GUI, what's the point of restricting that?
Just let people access it, have a disclaimer, and wipe your hands of having to provide warranty.
I don't really care if this message pisses someone off, I speak the truth, I will never buy another Flashforge machine, I will maintain this one myself, but I will go with products from another manufacturer that actually cares about the experience of the customers, I was set to start swap out machines in my print farm with these, but after buying this test machine, its left a rather nasty taste in my mouth.
Which printers will be beneficial to this feature?
All
Describe the solution you'd like
Either provide root credentials or hire some real software engineers and fix your crap software stack.
