Ongoing Changes Are Hindering Freebuff’s Usability

I’m concerned about the current direction of the project. The recent changes have made it increasingly difficult to use Freebuff effectively, which contradicts the expectations set by its “free” positioning.

Frequent updates that introduce additional restrictions or friction are negatively impacting usability and discouraging contributors. This is especially frustrating when time and effort have already been invested into understanding and contributing to the codebase.

In my case, I was in the process of pushing new features, only to find that recent changes had significantly disrupted the workflow. This not only affects productivity but also reduces motivation to contribute further.

I hope the maintainers can reconsider the current approach and focus on stability, usability, and a more contributor-friendly experience moving forward.

I cant even use it at all anymore. I had been a die hard advocate for the tool since the beginning. The most recent update has blocked my access with the following error message. Note I have not changed or altered my network in anyway

Sorry, guys! We're trying to find a sustainable path, so we've had to limit access in various ways.

@cas8180 Are you in the US and from what location are you trying to access freebuff? (e.g. from your office, or home, or something else?)

The hint is very clear that using a VPN is not allowed, you can't get it for free anymore, although I'm also quite upset, buddy, haha.

Are you actually using a local US internet connection? The message says you're using a proxy. If you're in the US and not using a proxy, it should work.

Hi, the current solution seems to block a few legitimate users like you (@cas8180). Unfortunately, I don't have a better solution at the moment.

Same, no VPN straight to ISP and shows up as VPN. I wonder why block VPN in the first place.

Whats ironic is that I am not at the public library which is on a highly regulated/sensored network and freebuff is working just fine. I guess if I want to use it I need to get on a sensored network.
